Levoshe M

Levoshe-M

Levoshe-M is a combination syrup containing Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride and Montelukast Sodium, used primarily to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, asthma, and other allergic conditions in children. It helps reduce sneezing, runny nose, itching, and airway inflammation.

Overview

Levoshe-M is an anti-allergic medication combining two active ingredients: Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride (2.5 mg per 5 ml), a second-generation antihistamine, and Montelukast Sodium (4 mg per 5 ml), a leukotriene receptor antagonist. This syrup is formulated to address allergic symptoms and respiratory issues, particularly in pediatric patients. Levocetirizine works by blocking histamine, a chemical responsible for allergy symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes. Montelukast inhibits leukotrienes, which cause inflammation and constriction in the airways, thus aiding in asthma management and reducing nasal inflammation. Levoshe-M is commonly prescribed for children to manage seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis, asthma, and chronic urticaria (hives). It is available as an oral syrup, making it easier for children to consume. The medication is typically taken in the evening to control symptoms overnight and during the day.

Key Benefits:

Levoshe-M provides a synergistic effect by targeting two pathways of allergic reactions:

  • Allergy Symptom Relief: Reduces sneezing, runny or itchy nose, watery eyes, and skin itching caused by allergic rhinitis or hives.
  • Asthma Management: Helps prevent asthma symptoms like wheezing and shortness of breath by reducing airway inflammation.
  • Chronic Urticaria: Alleviates itching and swelling associated with chronic hives.
  • Seasonal Allergies: Effective during pollen seasons to control hay fever symptoms.
  • COPD Symptom Control: May relieve airway constriction in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in some cases. The combination simplifies treatment by addressing multiple symptoms with a single medication, improving patient compliance.
